Things to see and do in Port Stanley

So much to see and do in Port Stanley! You can bask in the sunshine on our long sandy beaches or, take a refreshing dip in Lake Erie.

Another option would be to charter the 33' sailboat Southern Cross for a three to four hour day sail or even a sunset cruise. Does it get any better?

An antique tourist train with open-air cars snakes through the countryside to St. Thomas and back. Shopping in Port Stanley is a treat in the quaint boutiques and galleries of the local artists. The grape and fruit wineries and specialty farms are a must visit.

We are in the centre of golfing territory with the in-town Kettle Creek Golf & Country Club or The Bluffs of Port Stanley Golf Club, as well as numerous other courses within a thirty minute drive.

Fitness buffs enjoy cycling the country roads or hiking the Elgin Hiking Trail from St. Thomas to Port Stanley. Maybe you would prefer trekking the numerous nearby conservation areas, especially Springwater with the diversity of its Carolinian forest.

Bird watchers will love Hawk Cliff, which is one of the largest flyways for migrating raptors, also a rendezvous for monarch butterflies. Port Burwell Conservation Area, only minutes away, has one of Ontario's best kept secrets - an incredibly long and secluded beach.

Don't forget summer theatre from May to Labour Day weekend. Winter is the time for walking, cross-country skiing or mellowing by the fire.

One can even take advantage of the facilities at the Port Stanley Fitness Centre across the street.

Port Stanley is conveniently located, only half an hour away from London with its amazing shopping, Theatre London, museums and galleries. Even Stratford is only an hour and 15 minutes away.

Kettle Creek Inn is the destination for further exploration of conservation areas such as Long Point, Rondeau, Point Pelee and Pelee Island.
